Train up a child in he way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
~ Proverbs 22:6
Our children are our most important assets. They are our future and it is our responsibility to help shepherd our youth into His kingdom.
Every child is special and we don’t want any to fall through the cracks. We use several curricula at various age levels so that all of our children can be taught according to their individual needs and learning styles.
We have separated the age levels as well to make learning and discussions more age-appropriate.
Nursery And Toddlers
We have a cry room located at the back of the sanctuary which has windows and speakers to see and hear the service if you would like to stay with your child.
We also have a larger nursery for infants and toddlers up to 3 years old.
The nursery not only allows the children time to play and enjoy themselves during the service, but it also gives the parents their own quiet time to sit and focus on the Bible study.
While we don’t require that the children be in the nursery or cry room, we do encourage parents to be considerate and take advantage of either one to help minimize distractions in the sanctuary.
All children will stay in the sanctuary with their parents during worship. After worship, they will be released to their classes.
Sunday Mornings – 1st Service
Classes are separated into three levels: Preschool, Kindergarten through 2nd Grade and 3rd though 5th Grade.
The Preschool classes use the Group “Hands-On” curriculum that also uses a scripture-based topical approach. These lessons are focused more on the actual Bible stories (i.e. Jonah and the Whale, Jesus’ Birth) with four or five lessons covering a broader topic (i.e. Family Life in Bible Times, How We Got The Bible).
Grades K-5 use a verse-by-verse curriculum developed by Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. It is very similar to the verse-by-verse Bible Study format that the Pastor uses and takes the students through the Old and New Testaments beginning with Creation (Genesis 1:1) and ending with The River of Life (Revelation 22:21).
Sunday Mornings – 2nd Service
As with the first service, classes are separated into three levels: Preschool, K-2nd and 3-5.
There is also a Mid-High/High School Youth Group which meets upstairs
Thursday Evening Service
On Thursday evenings, we use the Group “Faith Weavers Friends” curriculum for our elementary classes which use key verses and themes to teach our youth what the Bible offers each one of us.
Through the use of projects, games, memory verses, and discussion, the children learn first-hand just what their faith is about.
There is also a Mid-High/High School Youth Group which meets upstairs.
Dropping Off/Picking Up Your Child
In order to provide a safe and secure environment for your child, we ask parents of children 3rd-5th grade take their child to the classrooms after worship and sign them in. Parents also need to go to the classroom after the service to sign their child back out.
Parents of children in Preschool and Nursery classes will be given a number when they sign their child in and must have that number when they pick up their child. This ensures that the children are in safe hands.
Jesus said. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
~ Mathew 19:14
